Former student works with non-profit organization

Alyssa Fry
Former student Alyssa Fry keeps the Education Resource Strategies (ERS) website updated, maintains social media efforts and tracks press coverage and public speaking.

ERS is a non-profit organization dedicated to transforming how urban school systems organize resources—people, time, technology, and money—so that every school succeeds for every student.

Fry writes and edits print, online and multimedia content, and she creates videos about ERS work and tools (check out the Introduction to DREAM video.) As ERS Communications expands, Fry will be central in managing the evolution of the new initiatives and getting the word out.

Fry has a background in nonprofit communications and print journalism. Prior to joining ERS, she helped lead the communications, marketing, and event planning for the Friends of Fort Point Channel and the Boston Local Food Festival. She completed a year of service in the AmeriCorps VISTA program as the Communications and Events Manager of the Massachusetts Nonprofit Network.

After her time at this college, she covered the liberal arts beat then went on to be assistant news editor at The Shorthorn at University of Texas-Arlington, where she helped manage staff reporters and edit content. She was editor of the weekly entertainment page and worked on the copy editing desk.
