Former student running for Congress in Dallas area


Former student Eric Williams is an independent candidate for U.S. Congress 30th District.
Here is one of his political videos before the March primaries.


Williams, CEO of Out The Box Productions, is a native of Dallas, a graduate of Dallas ISD and a 30-year veteran of journalism. He attended San Antonio College, the University of Detroit and the University of Hartford where he studied communications and journalism.
In the early 1980s, Williams integrated the Dallas Morning News photography department. He later became the first African-American photojournalist and filmmaker at National Geographic Magazine. Williams also became the first African-American to win the prestigious National College Photographer of the Year award in 1987. He has since worked as a staff journalist for the Boston Globe,the Detroit News, the Hartford Courant, the San Antonio Light, the St. Louis Sun, the Topeka Capital Journal and the Atlanta Journal Constitution. His investigative documentary films have appeared on CNN, ABC, FOX, BET, CBS, NBC and PAX TV.
