Four receive Hispanic Journalists scholarships

The San Antonio Association of Hispanic Journalists this year celebrates its 25^thanniversary by awarding $25,000 in scholarships to 13 deserving Bexar County students pursuing careers in communications and journalism. 

Scholarships will be presented to the recipients July 20 at the SAAHJ 14th Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

Four of the recipients have a San Antonio College connection. 

Three served as editor of The Ranger: Jolene Almendarez, Zarah Farah and Joshua Fechter, and one was an Urban Journalism Workshop student, Bria Webb.
