Former student excels as gymnastics mentor/coach

Tim Erwin, former Ranger sports editor

Tim Erwin, a former sports editor of The Ranger, has been coaching and/or directing gymnastics for more than 30 years. He has coached many of the highest ranked junior gymnasts in the United States. 

He is gymnastics director at Houston Gymnastics Center of The Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center in Houston.

In addition, Erwin has traveled as a representative of the USA Gymnastics Federation with gymnasts and teams to Russia and Japan.

He served as a Junior National Team Coach (six years), a Junior Olympic Program Committee Member (three years), the Texas State Chairman (nine years), and is currently on the Texas State Committee and is the treasurer of Texas State Sims Scholarship Committee.
